Underground Storage Tank Removal

Storage tank removal is one of the services CES offers to complement our interior demolition and exterior demolition activities. From a 50 gallon heating oil tank to 10,000 gallon gasoline tanks, CES is prepared to provide removal services.

CES Qualifications & Approach:

CES is a licensed pollutant storage contractor and carries pollutant liability insurance of $1,000,000. We have been licensed for tank and contaminated soil removal since 1991. CES generally pursues tank removal work in conjunction with larger projects.

CES will evaluate the Preliminary Contamination Assessment Report, Contamination Assessment Report, along with the actual site conditions. Based on our assessment we will provide pricing along with a detailed scope of services. Additionally, we will subcontract geologic and analytical services.

CES cleans the tanks utilizing chemicals and high pressure water. We utilize a vacuum truck to remove the cleaning effluent. Tanks are checked to verify that the internal atmosphere is below the lower explosive level. The tanks are then opened, prepared for transport and manifested to a recycling facility.

During the excavation portion of the project, CES utilizes an independent third party consultant for soil and water quality testing. The field data collected will also be utilized for the FDEP closure report.

In addition to tank and product removal, CES also provides contaminated dirt removal services. These services are offered with third party oversite and testing. All materials will be removed to either a landfill or appropriate thermal treatment facility.

Depending on the requested scope of services, CES can provide complete statutory closures reports. The reports would contain all required documentation, including analytical results, manifests, disposal tickets, and report data.
